History of ISPC
D’une petite affaire au concept pour l’horeca
From a one-man band to a force to be reckoned with in the hotel and catering world In 1966, Guus Roffelsen took on the ultimate challenge of starting his own business. Within ISPC, he managed to combine his enthusiasm and powers of persuasion with his infallible business acumen. In the late 70, ISPC moved to Breda, where the business took off thanks to the boldness and eagerness to offer a comprehensive range (including fresh produce). This was accompanied with the inevitable teething problems. The first lorries with fresh produce from Paris/Rungis (Europe’s largest fresh market) were thrown out after a couple of days upon arrival. But Guus did not give up, and so his decision to bring fresh specialities from Paris to the Netherlands would soon prove to be a huge success. Very soon, news spread of a Breda-based wholesaler that offered the best products for the hotel and catering industry. As a consequence, the whole of culinary Holland and Belgium would descend on Breda weekly to see, taste and buy the latest produce at the crack of dawn. ISPC became the weekly meeting point between top chefs, which was an added reason to travel to Breda. Guus managed to turn ISPC into an established value within the hotel and catering industry. In 1991, Guus sold ISPC to the Fourcroy family. ISPC continues to seek out the latest and best products for the hotel and catering industry, this time on a worldwide scale. These novel products could include surprising local produce but also the most exotic wares. If there is a new product on the market, you are bound to find it at ISPC first. This urge for innovation has turned ISPC into a unique concept, which 40 years on is still a leading light in the hotel and catering industry. ISPC remains a trend-setter within the hotel and catering industry and is guaranteed to offer the best products and services, as well as valuable expertise and service. Today ISPC is located at Ghent and Liège. > Back to Company Profile |
